About Econorama
Econorama is an independent platform for exploring and comparing countries through global data and indicators. It brings together a wide range of indicators in a clear, consistent, and easy-to-navigate format, making it easier to understand how countries compare over time and across topics. From high-level overviews to detailed country data, Econorama offers an accessible view of global trends.
Purpose
Econorama aims to make global data easier to explore and understand. By combining structured datasets, clear visualizations, and intuitive navigation, it provides a practical way to compare countries, analyze trends, and access reliable data. Users can move from global overviews to country pages, compare countries across indicators, explore rankings, and access downloadable data from the same platform.
Data and Methodology
Econorama compiles data from multiple international sources, including institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, OECD, United Nations, and World Health Organization. For each topic, the platform selects a set of key indicators, and for each indicator, it uses the most appropriate sources available. The platform relies on data that are publicly available through these sources, and each indicator is accompanied by definitions, metadata, and source information. Indicators are presented using standardized definitions, units, and formats. Where relevant, Econorama uses measures and units that improve comparability across countries and over time, such as constant-price series and purchasing power parity (PPP)-based units.
